a hint of holiday.

It's beginning to feel like the holidays in our abode.  I have to say that I am really enjoying my interpretation of holiday this year.  I reused the branches from our wedding wishing tree to create a more modern rendition of a christmas tree.  I am pleased with how the monochromatic ornaments and branches look against the cool paint color of our living area.

On this cold, sunny december day I can appreciate the soft, warm texture of our stockings.  At times I found myself wanting to slip the stockings directly onto my feet to keep warm.  Don't worry; I resisted.

This holiday season I wanted to be a little more experimental with my gift wrapping technique.  Right now, I am digging the classic look of craft paper paired with manilla shipping tags.  Again, I was lucky enough to recycle the tags from our wedding decor.  The R stamp used on the gifting tags can be found at the enchanting online shop of maemae paperie.

Here's to wishing you all an enjoyable and safe holiday!

Last week I had the opportunity to visit the North Carolina Museum of Art. Every time I visit, I develop a new appreciation for the building, the art, and the landscape on which the museum sits.  I feel incredibly lucky to have this museum in my backyard, making it possible for me to partake in impromptu visits regularly. For me, the museum is a source of inspiration as it draws visitors from all over the globe to share their love of art, whether ancient or contemporary.  Not only does the museum provide an environment for art lovers to relish the latest permanent and temporary collections and enjoy a delicious meal at the sophisticated Iris, but also, the museum campus provides nature lovers with an expansive landscape complete with a walkable greenway and intriguing sculptures.

Below are a few instagram photos from my recent trip.
